Ok blogging world. I gave up on you a little over 7 months ago, and have now decided I’m gong give you another chance. Here, I will share with you my hopes, my dreams, my ambitions for the present and for the future… (Ok, that was mostly a joke).. But for real, I’m probably mostly going to throw up quotes from stuff I’m reading, maybe some of what I’m learning, and if I get a camera or something, maybe some pictures or other stuff.
I’ve been thinking on this a lot lately:
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such that is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
-Ephesians 4:29
This is not true of my speech a lot, and I’m praying that God will change my heart. In praying that though, I’ve been coupling it with this quote from Thomas Watson in his book The Godly Man’s Picture: “Policy without piety is profound madness.” I had to look up what piety meant (it means reverence for God), and realized how much that statement is biblical and addresses the heart. I can change my speech all I want, but if I’m not doing it out of a reverent fear and love for God, realizing that its only by his strength that sin in my life can be mortified, its “profound madness.”
Think about it. Tell me if I’m wrong, but please do so gently (Galatians 6:1). Might do another post soon. Thanks for reading!
